Description

My adorable little polygonia interrogationis caterpillar hatched from her chrysalis last night, so this afternoon, I took her outside to release her... but not before getting a few pictures. I cut up an overripe apple to bribe her into modeling for me before she flew off. This one was my favorite shot.

It's still hard to believe this beautiful (and huge!) butterfly came from such a tiny caterpillar:
